via Twitter

Having just released her first EP “Ui ❤️ Okinawa” on 10/20, VTuber Nema Ui also released a cool cover of The Boom’s “Shima Uta” on her YouTube channel (the song isn’t part of the EP). The 6-track EP is currently available on all streaming platforms.

Nema Ui’s Okinawa Support Album “Ui ❤️ Okinawa” 10/20

Our favorite VTuber Nema Ui will be releasing her first Okinawa Support mini album (EP?) “Ui ❤️ Okinawa” on 10/20! The album will feature the two singles she released this year and also include four additional tracks (one of them is a cover of everyone’s favorite anthem “Dynamic Ryukyu”). A physical CD is currently being sold on Ui’s website so we’re hoping a digital version will follow.

Miss Okinawa YouTube Channel Premieres a Video Entirely in Uchinaaguchi

Miss Okinawa’s YouTube Channel

Up till now, the Miss Okinawa YouTube channel focused primarily on places to eat and visit while in Okinawa (which happens to be the main part of their job) but they recently released a video entirely in Uchinaaguchi and in 4K! (Yes, they as most other Uchinaa YouTubers still use Okinawa Hougen instead of Uchinaaguchi. Sigh.) The video is wonderfully narrated by Komine Wakako of the Miyagi-ryu Toyobukai Miyagiryuubu Kenkyuujo.

Utabus Shares YouTube Concert

Utabus Performs at Ryukyu-mura

Utabus first came to our attention on Sanshin no Hi with a solid performance. Utabus is a group put together by Naha Bus featuring their talented bus guides. For those of you attending next year’s Worldwide Uchinanchu Festival, while on tour you may find yourself in the presence of one of these amazing bus guides. Make sure to let them know you watched their Ryukyu Mura concert. 🥰

i-Dushi’s Cover of “Mirai e”

A hula version of i-Dushi’s “Mirai e” (Kiroro) was recently put together by Insense Music Works on their YouTube channel. The cover song was released with the compilation album “HONEY meets ISLAND CAFE – Sea of Love 5 -” from December 2020. Unfortunately, the album nor the single is available globally so we’ll have to enjoy the video on YouTube.

HoRookies’s 2nd Album “Focus” Release Party on YouTube

via Twitter

HoRookies recently released their 2nd album “Focus” at the beginning of the month and held a release party for it on YouTube. They announced that it’s now available on YouTube as an archive so if you missed the livestream or just want to watch it again, here’s your chance! By the way, if you haven’t added “Focus” to your library, it’s definitely worth a listen.

10,000 Eisaa Dancers Online in Virtual Okinawa

Due to the pandemic, most of this year’s eisaa festivities (there were still smaller, downsized local ones here and there) have been canceled. To make up for it, there was a limited time YouTube VOD of the fantastic film “Eisaa Don Don” (extended to 9/30!), a rebroadcast of the Campus Records x Matsuda Kazutoshi’s 2020 eisaa festival, and now we have Virtual Okinawa’s 10,000 eisaa dancers emceed by our favorite VTuber Nema Ui! While it was live-streamed on 9/4 (Uchinaa time), it’s available as an archive for now. Oh, and it’s around 5 and a half hours long!
